The Colosseum rises in weathered tiers around the exposed hypogeum, where ancient tunnels and chambers lie open beneath Rome's arena. Worn galleries and repeated arches circle the center under a heavy sky, revealing the layered structure once hidden below the arena floor. Centuries of weathering remain across the stone, giving the interior a strong sense of age and scale.
Small figures dot the upper walkways, dwarfed by the surrounding tiers above the dense network of subterranean walls far below. Deep shadows fill the exposed chambers and passageways, while the galleries rise in weathered arcs around the open center. The towering stonework and uncovered hypogeum remain visible together, preserving a detailed look at the engineering and history of Roman construction within the ancient amphitheater.
Display it in a study or executive office beside another travel themed print to continue the sense of history and discovery. A Colosseum scale model echoes the arches, and a charcoal gray area rug settles naturally with the deep stone tones.

GALLERY WRAPPED: If you order your print GALLERY WRAPPED (which we highly recommend), you will receive all 5 panels professionally stretched and mounted to our custom-built wood stretcher bars in the classic gallery wrap style. 100% hand-made in our shop with love and attention to detail, our gallery wrapped prints are ready to hang upon delivery.
PRINTED FABRIC ONLY: For the Do-It-Yourselfers, our prints are also available as PRINTED FABRIC ONLY linen canvas fabric panels.
If you order your print as PRINTED FABRIC ONLY you will receive only the five pieces of canvas fabric, printed with the design of your choice and rolled up for shipping.
These fabric panels include a white border for attaching to stretcher bars, foam core or whatever mounting method you choose. This border can be trimmed upon request.
To achieve the best fit and finish at the lowest cost we do recommend that you order your print gallery wrapped and let us do the stretching and mounting for you, but the choice is ultimately up to you!
